The working principle of the eddy current thickness gauge is to use the phenomenon of electromagnetic induction. When the probe of an eddy current thickness gauge is brought close to a metal surface, it generates a high frequency electromagnetic field. When an electromagnetic field interacts with a metal surface, eddy currents are generated in the metal. The intensity and distribution of the eddy current are affected by the thickness of the metal material, the greater the thickness, the greater the influence of the eddy current.
